The Spring Wives Conference

A residential conference at Hothorpe Hall for the wives of those who have been in full-time ministry for over 6 years.

The Spring Ministers Wives Conference

The Spring Ministers Wives Conference will be held from 7 - 10 March 2011 at Hothorpe Hall, Leicestershire.

Those of us who are married to ministers know that it brings both a unique privilege and an unusual set of pressures to bear. We want to recognise that an important part of supporting the work of the proclamation of the gospel is to support those who tirelessly work alongside their husbands: supporting, encouraging, protecting and comforting. Our wives’ conferences therefore play an important and strategic part in our work.

Conference Details

For 2011, it is a joy to welcome Vaughan Roberts and Lizzie Smallwood as our speakers. The main way we encourage ourselves for the task to which we are called is through the nourishment of the word of God. Alongside them will be a small team of seminar and workshop leaders and the now-famous energetic music team!

As with all our residential conferences, there will be time to relax and encourage one another in a friendly setting. A range of seminars will provide a chance to explore some different areas of interest and spiritual growth. Please book promptly as this conference is always oversubscribed!

Our Aims

Our aim is to:

  • Equip, encourage and help wives to support their husbands' evangelical ministries, while living out their own God-given gifts and priorities
  • Provide Bible exposition
  • Explore together partnership in ministry marriages
  • Provide seminars and discussion groups on issues facing ministers and their wives today
  • Provide ample time for prayer, relaxation and refreshment, as well as the opportunity to renew old friendships and make new ones

Who should attend?

Wives of evangelical ministers who have been in full-time paid ministry for over six years. (The Summer Wives conference caters for wives of ministers in training or their first six years of ministry).
