- Preacher/Author: Walter Kaiser
This is the second of three lectures by Walter Kaiser on preaching from the Old Testament. In this session he looks at preaching narrative. Preaching narrative is enormously satisfying: it is hard to find someone who doesn't like a really good story, especially one in which they can see the reality of everyday life. The difficulty of preaching them lies in discovering what abiding truth they are communicating, and understanding how they speak to issues now, in our day.
Dr Kaiser shows us how to approach these passages both through general principles and through an example from the story of Elijah, 1 Kings 17.
