The Cross is both the work of God (what he has done), and the revelation of God, because it shows us what he is like.

When we understand it, we stop putting ourselves at the centre of Christianity, and discover the truth about ourselves and about God.

Paul wrote the letter to the Galatians because they, a group of new Christians, in their enthusiasm to go forward in their faith and life, had put their faith in real danger, putting their trust in teachers who promised a fuller Christian life, but who actually pulled them away from the gospel.
